COMET Named by UN SDG Acceleration Agenda as Key Digital Tool for SDG7

KUALA LUMPUR — We are pleased to share that COMET has been identified by the UN SDG Acceleration Agenda as one of two critical digital tools in advancing progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7), which calls for affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. This announcement, made at last month's UN SDG Summit in New York, comes at a time when accelerated efforts and investments are essential to meet SDG7 targets.

Accelerating Energy Access with COMET
Access to energy is not just about delivering electricity connections, it is fundamental to a just and inclusive energy transition. Modern access to electricity services empowers communities, improves healthcare and education, and drives economic growth. Over 730 million people worldwide currently lack reliable access to electricity, which limits their opportunities for development. Latest studies show that we are not on track to meet SDG7 and bridging this energy gap is urgent.

COMET works to ensure that communities are involved in energy projects. It also provides a digital tool and platform for gathering and employing community-driven data towards improved energy system design, implementation and investment. COMET is strategically positioned to make a transformative impact as we work to ensure that every community is reached.

Invitation for Collaboration
This international recognition underscores the relevance and potential of COMET's contributions to sustainable energy access. In this context, we extend an invitation to stakeholders worldwide to collaborate, innovate, and coordinate efforts to achieve universal energy access.
